No stem hole changes.  Number 5 is 0°C and each line is 1°C (10°C per inch).  
Chart speed is 4 inches per hour.  Hold for seeding at stem #5.

 

Large Freezer and Stabilizer LN2 @ 27cm.  Freeze @ 15.  Avg. Freeze Rate = .53°C/min.  Rm T = 72°F

Large Freezer and Stabilizer LN2 @ 12cm.  Freeze @ 15.  Avg. Freeze Rate = .57°C/min.  Rm T = 90°F

Large Freezer and Stabilizer LN2 @ 0cm.  Freeze @ 15.  Avg. Freeze Rate = .57°C/min.  Rm T = 70°F

OBSERVATIONS

 

This is a large tank with sufficient space above the canister to allow freezing over canes containing embryos or semen.

Having excess liquid nitrogen that is not absorbed into the wall of the tank does not interfere with freezing embryos.  This allows the same tank to be used for storage at the same time as freezing embryos.

In most wet shippers the freeze rate is LN2 level dependent.  However, this dry shipper allows variable LN2 levels with no effect on the rate of freezing.
